Were you one of our 'Helping Hands' or know someone who was? We would love to know what you have been up to over the last eleven years. Please contact us at glenfield@nz.westfield.com so we can catch up on your story!
I was one of the Helping Hands when I was 7 and I've been back many times to see my handprint and to show my friends! Since then I was homeschooled til I was 16 when I attended Takapuna Grammar School for Years 12 and 13. I'm still a local girl, have been having a gap year this year, working here and there, and next year I plan to study Early Childhood Education at AUT Akoranga.
I can still remember going to get my handprint done... I remember choosing pink but not being very happy about putting my hand into goo! Mum says the only bad thing about it was Dad's reluctance to stand in such a long queue for so long! Every time I go back I'm very proud to see my handprint on the wall and I've been back so many times that I know exactly where it is. Thanks so much for the opportunity!
I'm Matthew Y. on the wall I think… and over the last few years I have been studying medicine at University of Auckland and am now half way through my training already!
Only 3 months old when her footprint was taken. She is still a local girl all set to go to intermediate school next year. She enjoys playing guitar, loves fashion and is part of the Takapuna Women's U12 cricket team.
When I was 11, I was one of the "Helping Hands". In the eleven years gone by, I finished school at Dilworth School and then moved onto the University of Auckland. At uni I studied engineering and completed my four year degree last year and have spent this year in my first role as a Civil Engineer which I believe is going to be a very rewarding and diverse career. I think that is a decent, brief summary of my story over the last eleven years.
