It's a new year! With a new year always comes a feeling of new beginnings, a fresh start, and the excitement of what's to come. It's the perfect time to try new trends, colours, shapes and to be a bit more experimental with your look. To help you start your new year as you intend to continue, I have pulled out a few key 2012 trends to get you started. Every trend can be tried in a small way or fully embraced so there are no excuses not to give them a go!
These next few months are really about making the most of the warmth. It is always easier to experiment with fashion during summer, colours are brighter and juicier, trends are made to be seen and not covered up with coats and sweaters and fabrics lighter and more textural. So the most important thing to remember in February is to enjoy the sun - wear your little wispy dresses, your short shorts, your bright jeans and your open toed shoes and love every minute of it! Happy shopping!
One of the biggest trends for High Summer 2012 is colour and wearing it in unexpected ways. Coloured denim, which can definitely be seen as a re-appropriation of the early 90's trend, is one of my favourite and most prevalent trends of the new year.
The new shapes are all about using what you were given and making the most of it. We are seeing prim figure hugging blouses, tube like dresses and classic pencil skirts show through for High Summer.
These heels were made for walking! I have never been a bigger fan of a footwear trend, I literally rave about my flatforms to whoever will lend an ear!
As one of NZ's most well known and loved women's wear brands, Max represents a classically paired back aesthetic, fashion that isn't fad, style that has come into its own over the past few years and become the backbone of many NZ women's wardrobes.
