Barista, Lauren, was chosen as a finalist from over 400 entrants for the National VitaSoy Express Yourself Latte Art competition and she has won 2nd place overall.

It was a rigorous selectin process, which included voting via various social media platforms, and the finals were run live at the annual Foodfirst Trade show, held on Monday 12/03.

Judges included the well renowned Takahito Koyanagi, a well known judge whom sits as an expert judge for the National Hospitality Championships in Barista and Latte art.

We at Muffin Break Albany have always prided ourselves on producing amongst the very best coffee available here in New Zealand and this award proves it.

All our Baristas are professionally trained and must complete a minimum of 180 hours on the coffee machine before they are tested by Service IQ and, once approved, can proudly work as qualified Baristas at our Muffin Break.

Whilst Latte Art is Lauren's forte, she makes an award-winning cup of coffee as well. Lauren is always putting anything from Teddy Bears, Cats, Monkeys (the list goes on) Latte Art on her coffees to put a smile on our customers face.

This is not only a feather in Muffin Break Albany’s cap but for Westfield Albany to have a Barista that placed 2nd in a National Championships is no doubt something to brag about.
