Grow your fringe out with style

I was once told by a friend that anyone wanting bangs, almost never really wanted them, and should almost always go to therapy instead. Her delivery, although somewhat blunt (no pun intended), was not too far from the truth. But instead of booking your therapy session mid-fringe, you may find the need for professional help once you've decided to part ways with your fringe.

As a former fringe dweller myself, I know your pain; the constant itching, tickling, hair perpetually in your eyes and the more dramatic, accidental whack to face in an attempt to quell the constant annoyance. I feel ya girl. But not to worry - here are some of the most simple and stylish ways to turn your former fringe fears into a hair haven.

Sweep to the side

One of the easiest ways to overcome an outgrown fringe, is to sweep it to the side. Part your hair to the left or right (up to you), and use a comb to bring the hair forward and to the side. It's a great way to blend your bangs in seamlessly with the rest of your hair. For extra staying power, blow-dry into place and set with a styling product such as TRESEMMÉ Styling Hairspray Extra Hold.

Part in the middle

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Simply take your comb and run from the back to the front of your head, maintaining a straight line. Depending on the type of hair you have, you may want to use a round brush on your fringe when blow-drying to create that effortless windswept look.

Styling solutions

Headbands are an easy and on-trend solution for the 'too-short' fringe. Create a slicked back look with a styling product like Sculpture Gel Spray before adding your headband for further hold. But if your fringe is still too short to stay in place, try twisting your fringe off to either side, and securing it with clips. And if you've got a bit more time on your hands, braids are always a super stylish way to keep bothersome bangs out of your eyes.
