Monty’s day out at Polyfest

Monty the Monkey got amongst all the fun at Polyfest in South Auckland this week. The largest Pacific Dance Festival in its 44th year continues to celebrate the pride and passion of the Maori and Pacific Island communities through song, dance, speech and art.

To kick off Polyfest, Monty the Monkey joined almost 2000 kids at the Schools Day’s on Wednesday 13 March. The day saw 65 schools from across Auckland come together to participate in interactive sessions focussing on song and dance.

Westfield Manukau Local Heroes winner, Saintz Up Performing Arts Trust (SUPA), hosted an interactive dance workshop which saw the school kids, teachers and Monty learn a few new moves including the famous ‘Polyfest Dance Challenge’.

Monty took to stage with two talented SUPA performers to lead the workshop. It is safe to say he has now perfected the routine and can’t wait to show you when he is next in centre!

Monty and the Westfield team had so much fun celebrating Polyfest with the South Auckland community and can’t wait to get amongst all the fun next year!
