Cocktail attire: 4 jackets and cover-ups

Finding the perfect outfit for a cocktail event can be hard enough but if the weather seems like it could be chilly and calls for a cover-up or jacket your outfit could be in jeopardy. You don't want to take away from that beautiful new dress you bought but you also don't want to be stuck frozen, so it's time to have a look at some of your options. Here are four cover-up and jacket ideas you can use to help save your outfit!

This has to be one of the most common cover-ups for those more formal occasions, so it had to be on the list. This style is particularly good for those sleeveless tops or dresses as it gives your shoulders coverage for when the temperature is a little on the cooler side.

If you are after a bit more coverage than a wrap for your arms but don't want to ruin your classy look, then look no further than a blazer. There are almost too many styles to choose from as the suit jacket trend has really hit a high.

Light weight knit

If you want a cover-up that doesn't completely change the look of your outfit, opt for a light weight knit in a neutral colour. You will be surprised how warm it will keep you and you can still keep the initial look you were aiming for.
