Winter food for your mood: food plan by Jamie Chambers
Dietican and nutritionist Jamie Rose Chambers shares her meal plan for winter to ensure your body gets the nutrition it needs, whatever your mood.
Winter food for your mood
In the colder months, we're huddled inside trying to stay warm and can often feel gloomy so it's very common for our eating habits to change. Rather than ordering a stodgy meal on your delivery app, try an easy, nutrient-rich recipe that will still give you that comforting, homely feeling.
Jamie’s winter tips
- Eat red meat every other day.
- Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.
- Limit refined sugar.
- Get active outdoors.
- Ensure you are getting a good dose of iron rich red meat, such as beef to give you energy.
- Slow release sources of carbohydrates, such as sweet potato and wholegrains, help feed our brain energy and keep us alert.
