Meet our Local Hero finalists

Erin Manning

Perinatal Wellbeing Canterbury Trust

Passionate. Knowledgeable. Caring.

Erin Manning supports parents facing mental health challenges related to pregnancy and childbirth as the operations coordinator at Perinatal Wellbeing Canterbury Trust. After experiencing her own challenges, Erin became dedicated to helping others through support groups and community education. Around 400 people in Canterbury benefit from her work annually.

If Erin is successful in the community vote, 10 weeks of vital mental health support will be provided to 130 parents.

Paige Sullivan

Te Tahi Youth

Empowering. Passionate. Determined.

Paige Sullivan ensures rangatahi (youth) have access to essential services and support as a trustee of Te Tahi Youth. Paige’s goal is for every young person to feel seen, heard and respected so they can lead hopeful, valued lives.

If Paige is successful in the community vote, the funds will help provide essential services to young people at no cost by covering the rent of the community building for several months.

Sue Bagshaw

The Youth Hub Trust

Determined. Selfless. Inspirational.

Sue Bagshaw, chairperson of The Youth Hub Trust, is driving the establishment of New Zealand’s first purpose-built Youth Hub complete with supported housing facilities in central Christchurch. The Hub will provide integrated healthcare, education, housing and recreational services, aiming to serve 8,000 young people annually. Sue’s goal is to create a caring community that offers resources for mental and physical wellbeing.

If Sue is successful in the community vote, the funds will be used to buy appliances and equipment to complete the fit-out of the Hub’s supported housing facilities for at-risk youth.
