Between seasons: how to style transeasonal jackets
We all have our summer go-to looks linen dresses, denim cut-offs, and breezy tanks and we all know exactly what we're doing in winter leather pants, chunky knits and oversized coats but there are all those other awkward points throughout the year where we can never figure out what to wear, and when we do, we either feel too hot or too cold anyway. These points are known as the in-between seasons, and they can cause us to completely forget how to put together a single outfit.
The secret? A transeasonal wardrobe of a few key jackets that can be worn on their own in the warmer months, layered with other pieces when it starts to cool down, and everywhere in between.
Here are our five favourite transeasonal jackets of the moment - all creative, weather-appropriate options that hit the current trends and can be thrown on whenever you're staring blankly at your wardrobe, unsure of what to wear.
The Statement Leather Jacket
You can never go wrong with a leather jacket, but this year, consider upgrading yours to a statement version, complete with colours, patterns and embellishements.

The Modern Blazer
Blazers are another key piece that never dates, plus their lightweight look and feel makes them the perfect choice for in-between seasons! At the moment we're loving our blazers in satin and velvet finishes, royal-inspired checks and plaids, and gorgeous jewel tones.

The Denim Biker
Once you own a denim jacket, you'll wonder how you ever lived without one! The denim biker shapes of AW18 are a modern take on previous seasons' oversized boyfriend styles, and they can literally be worn over everything in your wardrobe.

The Army Jacket
If you're the kind of person that adores your denim jacket (and perhaps wears it a teeny bit too much) then it's time to invest in an army jacket! It's the perfect daytime option and the khaki colour goes surprisingly well over most wardrobe items.

Trench Coats have always been hailed as one of the most timeless pieces you can invest in, and for good reason. They are the ultimate transeasonal item! Here, you can either opt for a classic beige trench that will never date, or have fun with 2018 colours and patterns.
