Our sustainability progress

Scentre Group owns 42 Westfield destinations in Australia and New Zealand.

We aspire to be essential to people and their communities. An important part of us doing that is creating inclusive spaces and offering unique experiences. It’s also about taking a responsible and sustainable approach to managing our impact on the environment while growing our business.

With a focus on creating value for all our stakeholders, our responsible and sustainable business approach addresses four pillars – community, talent, environment and economic performance.

We're pleased to share with you our 2023 Responsible Business Report. It details initiatives aligned to the four pillars and our progress to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030.

Our Chief Executive Officer, Elliott Rusanow, explains,

“We remain focused on delivering our strategy in a responsible and sustainable way and we’re really proud of what we achieved in 2023.

“Over the past 12 months, we’ve made progress on our net zero strategy. We completed rooftop solar installations at Westfield Fountain Gate, Westfield Knox, Westfield Hornsby and Westfield Tuggerah, which together more than double our solar generation capacity from 5.9MW to 12.2MW.”

Find out more about our approach as a responsible and sustainable business in our 2023 Responsible Business Report or read about our sustainability initiatives.
