Cosy up in the hottest colour trends this winter

Whoever said that a winter wardrobe had to be dull and grey like the weather outside? While darker tones are synonymous with this time of the year, adding a pop of colour (or more!) could be just what you need to brighten up those chilly mornings.

So, what are the 'it' shades for this season? While burgundy and forest green have often been winter’s colour heroes, this season also sees rich shades of caramelised browns, show-stopping pinks and deep blues take the stage. It’s time to be adventurous, as adding colour to your style is bound to put an extra pep in your step during these colder months.

Caramelised browns

Whether or not you’re a sweet tooth, get ready for lashings of ooey-gooey butterscotch, golden caramel and burnt toffee. Not only will these delicious brown hues warm up your winter look, but with a spectrum of different shades to choose from, it won’t be hard finding the perfect one to suit your skin tone. Find your perfect shade at Dotti, Decjuba or Kookai.

Seeing pink

Pink is having a real moment this season – so much so, it deserves an extra big shout out. From peachy pastel and playful bubblegum to bold magenta, you're bound to find a shade and cut to flatter both your work and leisure wardrobes. Hot pink suits and pretty in pink fur coats will have you channelling your inner Elle Woods! Shop similar looks at Mirrou, Farmers, Pagani or Portmans.

Into the blue

Finally, taking the prize for Pantone colour of the year, Classic Blue is having its time in the spotlight. While navy is a wardrobe staple for many, we're seeing waves of more prominent blues leaping out amongst the sea of winter black. So, will you be keeping things sweet in a shade of periwinkle, feeling those royal vibes in teal or braving the cold in bold azure? Check out Glassons or Just Jeans for some inspiration.
