Give the gift of joy this Christmas with the Shoebox Project
This Christmas, Westfield centres across New Zealand are proud to support the Catalytic Foundation’s Christmas Shoebox Project.
Since launching in 2018, the project has delivered more than 17,000 shoeboxes to children and families via a network of community charities and organisations.
More than just a gift, each shoebox is a lifeline filled with essential items and small treasures that bring joy to children and families experiencing hardship. From school supplies and toiletries to books and toys, these donations provide relief for parents under financial pressure, while showing families that their community cares.

How you can donate
From 16 November to 22 November, you can visit your local Westfield and drop donations into the in-centre Shoebox Donation Stations. These stations make it easy for you to gift directly to families in need.
What to Donate
To help create the perfect box, we encourage gifts from the Catalytic Foundation’s Shoebox shopping list noting that all items must be able to fit into a shoebox. We are collecting individual items, allowing the Catalytic Foundation to carefully tailor, pack and distribute each box to families across Aotearoa.
Something to love – a soft toy or comfort item
Something for school – pencils, drink bottle, notebooks, or backpacks
Something to wear – socks, t-shirts, or hats
Something to read – books or magazines
Something to play with – toys, balls, or games
Everyday essentials – toothbrushes, shampoo, or soap
Please note: all items must be new. Food, lollies, or second-hand goods cannot be accepted.
Join us in making a difference. Together, we can help deliver hundreds of shoeboxes to children across Aotearoa who might otherwise go without this Christmas. Visit your local Westfield, make a donation, and bring a little magic to a child’s holiday.
