Just booked a trip? These packing lists are a game-changer

Planning a holiday or mini break?

Get ready for your winter break with our easy packing lists. Whether it’s a sunny trip to warmer shores abroad or a snowy filled scenic break, once you’ve decided, it's packing time! We’ve pulled together some handy checklists for both types of holidays, so you won't forget the essentials.

For the flight and beyond

If you're travelling abroad on a long-haul flight, we have all the kit you need to make it as easy and relaxing as possible.

1. Noise cancelling headphones
Make sleeping or watching a movie more enjoyable with a pair of noise cancelling headphones. Check out Mobie and E Gifts.

2. Portable battery pack
Great for flying and for sightseeing, make sure to pack some extra cables and a portable battery pack, so your phone is always charged and ready to snap selfies.

3. Entertainment
Such as a kindle, laptop or tablet. Top tip - download all your favourite shows before the flight and binge watch once you're in the air.

The beach getaway

The sun is calling from the northen hemisphere or the tropical islands, which brings the perfect temperature to be relaxing on a towel by the water.

1. One-piece by day, bodysuit by night
Choose classic pairs in neutral colourways, that way you won’t mind rewearing them throughout your trip. Find your perfect style at Amazon and Farmers.

2. Day-to-night dress
A light maxi dress acts as a great cover up for your trip to the beach during the day, but can also be dressed up for a dinner with some jewellery and heels. Versatility is key.

3. Linen twin sets
Perfect for travel, these top and skirt or short sets give you outfit options galore. Plus, linen keeps you cool during the day and warmer during the evening.

4. Statement sunglasses
The perfect accessory for days in the sun. Make a statement and the perfect way to do that is with a new pair of shades. Try Sunglass Hut and Oscar Wylee.

5. Slide in style
Not into heels on holiday? Swap your sneakers for a pair of slides that can be worn on the sand, but also out to dinner. Check out Novo shoes and Mi Piaci.

6. Sun Protection
Never forget to slip, slop, slap, especially when spending all day in the sun. Always reach for a sunscreen with a SPF 30 or higher. Try Life Pharmacy.

Adventuring in the great outdoors

Whether you are going full snow or taking the whole family hiking, these are your must have items when setting off from base camp. Grab your backpack, throw in a water bottle and you'll be set for anything!

1. Backpack
If you are up for a long hike you will need to be prepared! Start with a trusty backpack to carry all of your essentials. Check out Kathmandu and Macpac.

2. Winter warmers
Pack for snow or sleet with all your winter warmers. Think puffer jackets, easy to wear leggings and thick socks for under ski boots. And don't forget hats and gloves! Try Kathmandu and Mountain Warehouse.

3. Sturdy shoes
A pair of hiking boots will see you through most outdoor activities. Make sure they are worn then in before you set off to avoid those dreaded blisters. Try Kathmandu and Macpac.

4. A light wind breaker
In early spring some mornings can be very crispy, don’t forget to pack a wind breaker to combat the morning chill. It’s the perfect jacket that will keep you warm enough but won’t having you sweating. Try Mountain Warehouse and Stirling Sports.

5. Hydration
The most essential of all things is a water bottle. It doesn't matter if you plan to break a sweat or not, you should always stay hydrated. Insulated ones are all the rage right now to keep your water nice and cool. If you want to take your hiking gear to the next level pick up a hydro bladder and drink like a pro. Check out Nike and Stirling Sports.
